In this Tip Tuesday, we delve into the latest password security enhancements in IndySoft. Learn how to leverage these features to bolster your system's protection.
Hello and welcome to another edition of IndySoft's Tip Tuesday series. My name is Tyler Huter, and I'm the Customer Success Manager here at IndySoft. This week, I'll be walking you through some new password options we've added to the system, reviewing existing options, and highlighting the differences between local installations and cloud-hosted options.
Local Installations:
For local installations, you can access password settings through the Profile Manager. Here, you can adjust options like the required number of password characters, attempts, and whether to enforce numeric characters, mixed casing, and unique characters. If a user exceeds the number of attempts, their account will be temporarily locked.
Cloud-Hosted Installations:
Switching to a cloud-hosted setup, the Profile Manager now includes Keycloak settings, which are specific to cloud-hosted environments and should not be modified.
Cloud-hosted installations offer additional password security features:
- Password Reset via Email: You can enable password reset via email by configuring email settings in System Preferences. This allows users to reset their passwords by entering their email address.
- Enhanced Password Requirements: When enabled, users are required to use a combination of special characters, numeric characters, and mixed casing for their passwords.
By implementing these enhanced password options, you can significantly improve the security of your IndySoft system.
Single Sign-On (SSO)
For enhanced security, IndySoft also offers Single Sign-On (SSO) integration. If you're interested, please contact us at implementation@indysoft.com or support@indysoft.com.
Thank you, and have a great day!
